Every student of the Master in HPC has to do a professional internship. This internship is a requirement to complete the master's program.

==== Regulation ====

This professional internship is regulated by the [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EZYo6QFXBKZMufNpwVazmpkBfd9gR5a8G3qrxeFOUqGkyg?e=aEhWce following document] (in Spanish).

==== Procedure ====

There are several ways to complete the professional internship requirement:

* The master will offer to students an official internship program with the participation of companies from Santiago and A Coruña. The procedure to be followed is.

# The master publishes the official internship program (check the dates below).
# Students apply for one or several internships that are of their interest.
# The companies can interview the candidates to make the final selection and the training plan is formalized.
# The internship takes place. During the internship, every 15 days the student sends to one of the coordinators of the master an activity report, following [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/ESsaWTbIVcRGmbPJEZKFFMwBAhkcEk5wRMvZkKwKJtNbWg?e=HNbztQ this template]
# The student handles to the coordinator of the master a report describing its experience following [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/IQAlHSz8I13dRZmk8H4Qkr9GAZi7l0Mvzsrj4NOaelPJ5Yk?e=5MvvUC this template]. This document, together with [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/IQANaG2UY_1tT5yPpIAfwpJ-Af53WhgPjxYwAZQJ_ZFdVEA?e=0V0zp2 a confidential report] from the professional tutor, will be used to assess the student's work.

* Another option is to validate previous professional experience in the HPC field (400 hours extended during at least 6 months). This procedure has to be followed when you enroll in the master. If you did not do it, please contact one of the coordinators of the master.

* The student can also propose to make a professional internship in a specific company. The topic of professional internship has to be related to the HPC field. Before the internship starts, this company has to sign with the university in which the student is enrolled (whether UDC or USC) a special agreement. To explore this possibility, please contact directly one of the coordinators of the master.

==== Important dates ====

* Final assignation and formalization of the training plan: By March 6th 2026
* Internship period (1st Opportunity): March 9th 2026 - May 15th 2026
* Internship period (2nd Opportunity): By July 24th 2026

=== What to do before the master thesis ===

As a previous step to the realization of the master thesis, the student has to select a topic and one or several directors/tutors. This can done following different paths:

# In January, there will be a special process in which a number of master topics will be offered to the students by the teachers of the master. The students will select those that are of their interests, and after that, there will be an official assignment of topics (+tutors/directors) to students.
# If a student has a special interest in a topic, he can contact directly to a tutor/director with her proposal. In that case, the student and the director/tutor has to present a preliminary project describing the work to be done by the student. This document has to follow the following template and it has to be sent by email to one of the master coordinators (Jorge González/Pablo Quesada) before the deadlines specified below.

* [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EUEliOYjjoVNs_d7AvFFaL8B6m_q5XLs70il6Tcrz6YIEA?e=lEA4JN, Preliminary project] (in Spanish)

=== The master thesis ===

After the project is finished, the student has to present a document describing the process and results of the realization of the master thesis. This document has to follow the following format. The approximate length of the document has to be around 50 pages, although this length can be exceeded if necessary:

* [https://www.overleaf.com/read/yfwdryjmrysy Format of the master thesis documentation for UDC students]
* [https://www.overleaf.com/read/drjbctnqhzqh Format of the master thesis documentation for USC students]

Alternatively, in those cases that the Master Thesis will be submitted to a research journal or conference the students can directly present that manuscript in the same format that was submitted to the journal/conference. The student must also present a proof that the manuscript was already submitted to the journal/conference (at least the confirmation email).

=== How to submit the master thesis ===

For the presentation of the project, the students must follow the steps in the virtual secretary of the university where he is enrolled. Then, he has to send the following documents to one of the master coordinators:

* The pdf with the master thesis documentation
* Any source code or supplementary material that the student wants to handle as a result of her project
* The proof obtained from the virtual secretary that he has uploaded the master thesis.

Contact to Jorge González (in case of UDC) or Pablo Quesada (in case of USC) if you have doubts about the procedure of the virtual secretary.

=== The master thesis ===

Every student of the Master in HPC has to do a professional internship. This internship is a requirement to complete the master's program.

==== Regulation ====

This professional internship is regulated by the [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EfHTJuROKGREiLenBkLE6VEBwE7wUDRTWH8RvfQKfPq1qQ?e=Di3XTm following document] (in Spanish).

==== Procedure ====

# The student handles to the coordinator of the master a report describing its experience following [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/ESUdLPwjXd1FmaTwfhCSv0YBmLuXQy_OyuPg05p6U8nliQ?e=YX6xJ1 this template]. This document, together with [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EQ1obZRj_W1PnI-kgB_Ckn4B_ndaGA-PFjABlAn9kV1UQA?e=CjQTvP a confidential report] from the professional tutor, will be used to assess the student's work.

==== Important dates ====

* Publication of the company's offer: Week of January 27th 2025
* Request by the students: From publication to February 7th 2025
* Interviews with the companies: 17th-21st February 2025
* Final assignation and formalization of the training plan: By March 7th 2025
* Internship period (1st Opportunity): March 10th 2025 - May 16th 2025

Every student of the Master in HPC has to do a master thesis as a part of the master program. This master thesis will be defended at the end of the master and its presentation and defense are a requirement to obtain the master's degree.

=== Regulations ===

The realization of this master thesis is regulated by the [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EZOBJOAjiRxLhHNyOuUlfbYBhPxRqc-zAqGVZOiydQUFRw?e=mSsaC4, following document] (in Spanish).

* [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EUEliOYjjoVNs_d7AvFFaL8B6m_q5XLs70il6Tcrz6YIEA?e=euGNZA, Preliminary project] (in Spanish)

=== The master thesis ===

=== Important dates ===

* Period to apply to one of the topics proposed by the teachers of the master: January 2024
* Assignment of the students to the teachers' proposals: February 2024
* Advanced call (only UDC students with preliminary project approved before July 2023):
** Deadline for the deposit of the master thesis: 7 December 2023
** Defenses of the master thesis: 11-14 December 2023
* First call:
** Deadline to present the preliminary project: 15 December 2023

=== The master thesis ===

After the project is finished, the student has to present a document describing the process and results of the realization of the master thesis. This document has to follow the following format. The approximate length of the document has to be around 50 pages, although this length can be exceeded if necessary:

==== Procedure ====

During the internship, every 15 days the student sends to one of the coordinators of the master an activity report, following [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/ESsaWTbIVcRGmbPJEZKFFMwBAhkcEk5wRMvZkKwKJtNbWg?e=nibN1c this template]

Every student of the Master in HPC has to do a master thesis as a part of the master program. This master thesis will be defended at the end of the master and its presentation and defense are a requirement to obtain the master's degree.
=== Regulations ===

The realization of this master thesis is regulated by the [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EZOBJOAjiRxLhHNyOuUlfbYBhPxRqc-zAqGVZOiydQUFRw?e=pjzc5r, following document] (in Spanish).

* [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EUEliOYjjoVNs_d7AvFFaL8B6m_q5XLs70il6Tcrz6YIEA?e=4Kifz3, Preliminary project] (in Spanish)

=== The master thesis ===

==== Procedure ====

* The student can also propose to make a professional internship in a specific company. The topic of professional internship has to be related to the HPC field. Every student of the Master in HPC has to do a professional internship. This internship is a requirement to complete the master's program.

==== Regulation ====

This professional internship is regulated by the [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/ER-f8gTPT1FBhyLQsf8sB2kBwyGwBr2Tb2QKtxWAI_G6iQ?e=fpdozT following document] (in Spanish).

==== Procedure ====

During the internship, every 15 days the student sends to one of the coordinators of the master an activity report, following [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EWfCGaFYBHpDjlrE4rim2w0Bl4WaTvFb2dgUvjjS2PYJWA?e=5FYjKh this template]
# The student handles to the coordinator of the master a report describing its experience following [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EXtjzwo18aRHk6XJwz_MLMABRJvGnd64vsJqqF9Qww2RVQ?e=EV8hza this template].

==== Important dates ====

* Publication of the company's offer: Week of February 7th 2022
* Request by the students: From publication to February 11th 2022
* Interviews with the companies: 21st-25th February 2022
=== What to do before the master thesis ===

As a previous step to the realization of the master thesis, the student has to select a topic and one or several directors/tutors. This can done following different paths:

# In January, there will be a special process in which a number of master topics will be offered to the students by the teachers of the master. The students will select those that are of their interests, and after that, there will be an official assignment of topics (+tutors/directors) to students.
# If a student has a special interest in a topic, she can contact directly to a tutor/director with her proposal. In that case, the student and the director/tutor has to present a preliminary project describing the work to be done by the student. This document has to follow the following template and it has to be sent by email to one of the master coordinators (Diego Andrade/José Carlos Cabaleiro) before the deadlines specified below.

* [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EUYo1h7hUwBGncX7NvXv0BMB4aqc2RlbLV3UTpTHLbxiwQ?e=IYZMPX, Preliminary project] (in Spanish)

=== The master thesis ===

=== How to submit the master thesis ===

For the presentation of the project, the student has to send the following documents to one of the master coordinators:

* The pdf with the master thesis documentation
* Any source code or supplementary material that the student wants to handle as a result of her project
* [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EZPsvG8ZfypNmr8FZlz7aPUBtkoTQ9RaBkm8jdGridmfnQ?e=acIGwN, A signed copy of a document requesting the defense of the master thesis]

Every student of the Master in HPC has to do a master thesis as a part of the master program. This master thesis will be defended at the end of the master and its presentation and defense are a requirement to obtain the master's degree.

=== Regulations ===

The realization of this master thesis is regulated by the [https://udcgal-my.sharepoint.com/:w:/g/personal/diego_andrade_udc_es/EQ3qOGAiUihGqnqeD-0xQP4B_z5qIyMHetKx0Ogy96gn1g?e=lH3Kku, following document] (in Spanish).

=== The master thesis ===
